Korean Skincare Routines
Build a simple or complete Korean skincare routine for your skin type and concerns, then discover products that fit each step.
Suggestions follow simple published rules (skin type + concerns + product type) using products listed on Melaxin.ca. They are not a skin diagnosis. Patch-test new products and talk to a dermatologist about persistent skin conditions.
The Korean skincare routine, explained
The famous 10-step routine is optional. Most people get great results from four or five well-chosen steps used consistently. Think of a routine as layers, from the thinnest texture to the richest: cleanse, tone or prep, treat with a serum, moisturize, and protect with sunscreen in the morning.
Morning routine
- Gentle cleanser or a rinse with water
- Hydrating toner (optional)
- Serum for your main concern
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen, every day
Evening routine
- Oil or balm cleanser if you wear sunscreen or makeup
- Water-based cleanser
- Exfoliator, one to two evenings a week
- Toner and serum
- Eye cream (optional) and moisturizer
Introduce products slowly
Add one new product at a time and wait a week or two before adding another. Patch-test on a small area first, especially exfoliators and products with active ingredients. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or using prescription skincare, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
