Description
What it is
The Green Tea Amino Acid Cleansing Foam is innisfree’s everyday face wash from the green tea line. Some retailers list it as the Green Tea Amino Hydrating Cleansing Foam or Green Tea Hyaluronic Cleansing Foam, depending on market and packaging generation. It is a cream that whips into a rich, soft lather with water.
The brand describes it as sulfate-free, vegan and dermatologically tested, and says it suits all skin types. Its amino acid complex is meant to keep the cleanse gentle, while green tea and pine leaf extracts add a fresh feel. It works as a single morning cleanse or as the second, water-based step of a double cleanse at night.
Key ingredients
- Camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract: the signature ingredient of the line, included for a fresh, comforting feel
- Arginine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid: an amino acid complex that the brand includes to make the cleanse feel gentle and non-stripping
- Glycerin: the second ingredient, a humectant that helps skin feel soft after rinsing
- Myristic, lauric, stearic and palmitic acids with potassium hydroxide: these form the soap-based cleansing system that creates the dense foam
- Lauryl hydroxysultaine, lauryl glucoside and disodium cocoyl glutamate: milder co-surfactants that boost lather and help remove sunscreen and oil
- Pinus densiflora leaf extract: a pine needle extract used in several innisfree formulas

How to use
- Wet your face with lukewarm water.
- Squeeze a pea-sized amount into your palms and add a little water to work up a lather.
- Massage the foam gently over the face for about 30 seconds.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- Use morning and night, following with toner.
If you wear sunscreen or makeup, use an oil or balm cleanser first, then this foam. A pea-sized amount is enough; more product only means more rinsing.
Who it suits
It suits normal, combination and oily skin that wants a satisfying foam without the squeaky-tight feel of harsh cleansers, and it is a natural first step before the Green Tea Seed Hyaluronic Serum. Dry skin can use it too, though our best Korean skincare for dry skin guide covers even gentler options.
Who should be careful
The cleansing base is soap-like (fatty acids with potassium hydroxide), which tends to have a higher pH than syndet cleansers, so very dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin may feel tight. The formula also contains fragrance. If your skin feels taut or itchy after rinsing, try using it only at night.
Patch test first. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear and wait 24 to 48 hours before using it on the face.

Frequently asked questions
Is Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam sulfate-free?
Yes. The brand lists it as free of SLS, SLES and other sulfates. Its foam comes from fatty-acid soap and mild co-surfactants instead.
Can it remove makeup?
It can remove light makeup, but for long-wear makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, use an oil cleanser first and then this foam.
Is it the same as the Green Tea Hyaluronic Cleansing Foam?
They are generations of the same green tea foam cleanser. Names and lists have changed over time, so compare the ingredient panel on the tube you buy.
Is it good for oily skin?
Yes. The rich foam cleanses oil well, and the brand says it is suitable for all skin types.
