Description
What it is
Milk Skin Toner is TIRTIR’s best-known skin-care product, a lightweight milky liquid that sits between a toner and an essence. You pat it in after cleansing to add a first layer of hydration before serums and moisturizer. TIRTIR describes it as fast-absorbing and non-sticky.
The brand highlights 2% niacinamide for a brighter, more even-looking tone, rice bran extract, ceramide NP and panthenol for barrier support, and cica and witch hazel to calm the look of irritation. It is sold in 150 ml, 50 ml and 20 ml sizes, and TIRTIR says the formula is vegan.
Key ingredients
- Niacinamide (2%, per the brand): vitamin B3, widely used for dullness, uneven-looking tone and barrier support
- Oryza sativa (rice) bran extract: a classic Korean brightening and softening botanical behind the toner’s milky theme
- Ceramide NP: a skin-identical lipid that helps support the moisture barrier
- Panthenol and allantoin: soothing, hydrating ingredients for a comfortable feel
- Sodium hyaluronate, betaine and sodium PCA: humectants that draw water into the upper layers of skin
- Centella asiatica and witch hazel extracts: botanicals the brand includes for a calming effect

How to use
- Cleanse and pat skin mostly dry.
- Shake gently if the liquid has settled, then pour a coin-sized amount into your palms or onto a cotton pad.
- Press or pat over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
- Layer a second time on dry areas if you like.
- Follow with serum, moisturizer and, in the morning, sunscreen.
Patting with your hands wastes less product than a cotton pad and lets you layer quickly, a method many people use for the “7-skin” technique.
Who it suits
Milk Skin Toner fits almost any routine that needs an easy hydration step: dehydrated oily skin, combination skin, and dry skin that wants a softer base before cream. It is also a sensible first niacinamide product because the percentage is modest. See where a toner sits in our Korean skincare routine for beginners.
Who should be careful
The formula includes several botanical extracts, among them peppermint, rosemary and anise, which can bother very reactive skin. If you already use a high-strength niacinamide serum, the total amount may cause flushing in some people. People with sensitive skin should start once a day.
Patch test first. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear and wait 24 to 48 hours before using it on the face.
