Description

What it is

Before Reedle Shot, VT Cosmetics was best known for its Cica line, and the Cica Cream is the moisturizer at its heart. Cica is the Korean shorthand for centella asiatica, a plant used for skin comfort. This cream combines centella extract with four of its active compounds (asiaticoside, madecassoside, madecassic acid and asiatic acid), plus propolis, panthenol and a ceramide, in a light cream base.

The texture is soft and spreadable, closer to a lotion-cream than a heavy balm, so it works morning and night. The brand presents it for skin that feels stressed, red or reactive, including after sun, wind or harsh products.

Key ingredients

  • Centella asiatica extract: the signature cica ingredient, used to help skin feel calm.
  • Asiaticoside, madecassoside, madecassic acid, asiatic acid: purified centella compounds that support soothing and skin comfort.
  • Propolis extract: a bee-derived ingredient included for nourishing and soothing.
  • Panthenol: provitamin B5, which softens and helps reduce tightness.
  • Ceramide NP: a barrier lipid that helps limit moisture loss.
  • Sodium hyaluronate and beta-glucan: hydrating ingredients for a plumper feel.

  4. In the morning, follow with sunscreen.

Tip: a slightly thicker layer on red or dry patches overnight can work like a light soothing mask.

Who it suits

It suits combination and normal skin that gets easily stressed, people using spicule boosters or exfoliants who want a calming cream afterwards, and anyone who likes centella products. It makes a natural partner for the VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser.

Who should be careful

Despite its calming positioning, the cream contains fragrance, alcohol and camphor leaf extract, which can irritate truly sensitive or allergy-prone skin. It also includes benzophenone-5, a UV filter, and propolis, which can trigger reactions in people allergic to bee products. Very sensitive skin may prefer a fragrance-free centella cream.

Patch test first. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear and wait 24 to 48 hours before using it on the face.
